Creative Currituck Club Wedding

One of the great things about The Currituck Club is that you can have a wedding as simple or as extravagant as you want! We offer a blank canvas that lends itself to whatever ideas you can come up with, plus the coordination and service to make it happen! This wedding is a great example of using The Currituck Club in a unique way and really realizing it's full potential. Starting with a soundfront ceremony on #7, the bride and groom also rented a tent to hold the dinner portion of the reception and turned the veranda into a lounge, complete with band & dance floor, photo booth, and lounge area. I apologize in advance for the plethora of pictures - especially of the lounge area - I'm obsessed with what Holiday House created!

Happy Planning!

Gorgeous!

Loved the sea glass on this cake - it really added that extra "something"!

Holiday House Weddings & Events did all of the decor while Ocean Atlantic Event Rentals provided the rentals.

My pictures do not even do this area justice - it was so clean and crisp but with a dash of beachy romance!
Another special touch - Holiday House did groupings of lanterns and candles scattered all around the inside perimeter of the veranda, when these were lit at night it made such an huge impact! It really did feel like an intimate lounge area with all of the candle light and overhead bistro bulb lighting.
Loved this dramatic ceiling install - see below for the full affect when lit up at night!
Ok I promise, last one of the lounge!
 Centerpieces at night

Their band was awesome! They really made the reception fun and got all of the guests into party-mode, they even had all 130 guests to start a love train around the golf range!

Spring Weddings have Sprung!

Wedding Season is officially here! We kicked off the 2013 season with this gorgeous soundfront ceremony a couple weeks ago on May 4th, featuring the perfect color scheme for an outdoor spring wedding of cornflower blue & yellow. Cari & Joe were the sweetest couple and they got the privilege of being the first to ride Caroline - the Corolla Trolley! I didn't get a chance to snap any pictures of the trolley in action, but check out their Facebook page here or Website here. If you are one of our soundfront ceremony brides, this will be your transportation as well! Congrats again to Cari & Joe!

Classy & Casual Fall Wedding

October was so full of weddings last year I accidentally missed a blog post about this one! Jennifer & Patrick were such a sweet couple and their wedding was the perfect mix of classy & casual. They borrowed our burlap table squares to accent their table-scapes of white lanterns, votive candles, and rich red flowers. Do you like the white lanterns as much as I do? Well if so and you're a Currituck Club bride then you're in luck...I got to keep them! There are 8 large, 3 medium, and 2 small white lanterns for you to use in your own events!

Happy Planning!

Hurricanes & Weddings

I'll be honest ~ I completely forgot to take pictures of this wedding.... In my defense, Liz & Mike's wedding took place on October 27th, 2012 - the day that Hurricane Sandy rolled through the Outer Banks! Needless to say we had to go to Plan B so the sound front ceremony was moved to the veranda and the reception was moved to the Rees Jones Lounge. Everyone took the weather in stride and had such a blast. If rain on your wedding day brings good luck, then a hurricane must mean a marriage full of love, happiness, and nothing but the best and I certainly wish that for Liz & Mike! Although I didn't get a chance to take pictures on this slightly hectic wedding day, their photographer, Leeann Marie from their hometown of Pittsburgh, featured this special couple in a blog post a couple months back. Check it out here! One more thing about this wedding - in Pittsburgh tradition they had a cookie table (yes I know all about the cookie table!) and let me tell you it was the largest (and yummiest) spread of baked goods I have ever seen!

Happy Planning!

Flashback to Fall Weddings

It's been way too long between posts again - and I truly apologize for that! I can honestly say this has been the busiest "off-season" I've ever had, which is only a foreshadowing of how busy this 2013 wedding season will be! This week's featured wedding is one of my all-time favorites - the decor was a really great combination of casual and fun and I just LOVED the table runners made by Shirley of Sugar Snap Events, plus the couple and all of their guests felt more like old friends than clients! Another fun thing about this wedding - they served a delicious fall specialty cocktail, Apple Champagne Punch, as their guests arrived for the ceremony! Such a fun day to be a part of!

I could post a bunch of my amateur photos (see example below) that do NOT do this wedding justice - or I can send you to Julie Dreelin's Blog Post featuring this FLAWLESS wedding! I'm going with the latter :) Enjoy Julie's photos HERE - how talented is she?!

Happy Planning!

Modern Fall Reception

Although you don't have to be a golf club member to get married here at The Currituck Club, it's always fun when members do get married here. Instead of just seeing them a few times over the course of the planning year, we get to see them for years to come and watch as their families grow over time :) This October wedding is one of those member weddings, and we look forward to what the future has in store for them! This wedding was fun & upbeat, opting for mingling space, food stations, and a band to put a more modern twist on their reception. Check out the AMAZING veranda hanging decor by Renee Landry!
