Country Chic

Another rainy Saturday at The Currituck Club last weekend, but another beautiful wedding! The southern girl in me fell in love with this wedding's decor - blue mason jars, burlap, and bright fuchsia accents were perfect! It was the little details that made this one so special - the clothespin-hung place cards, card basket with banner, and the simple Italian lights strung above the dance floor. Definitely a wedding for the inspiration board :)

What Happens if it Rains?

The million dollar question - and a very important one to ask! We're very fortunate that at The Currituck Club we do have a fantastic Plan B for bad weather wedding days! This plan was kicked into action last Saturday as an early Nor'easter hit the Outer Banks. We moved Chantal and Todd's lighthouse ceremony to our veranda, cocktail hour to our foyer, and the reception to our indoor room. You know what? It was perfect! If you hadn't been in on the planning, you would not have known we changed the plans at all. It was an intimate evening wedding with close family and friends who danced all night long. Best advice for this kind of thing? Go with the flow. Weather is the one thing that we can't control, so instead of stressing about what should have been, remember what the day is all about - YOU GETTING MARRIED - and enjoy it! Pictures can happen the next day :)

Happy Planning!

Brown, Beige, Beautiful!

Last Saturday we hosted the reception of two OBX locals who tied the knot! The decor by Holiday House was AMAZING - check out the hanging chandelier/centerpieces! The small size of the guest list, plus the cozy colors and decor made this reception feel intimate and unique. The cake was one of my favorites - a Rum Cake from Great Cakes! - so different than your average wedding cake. So happy we got to be a part of this one! Congrats Alex and Torre!

First Post!

Welcome to The Currituck Club's Wedding Blog! The Currituck Club is a premiere destination wedding location on North Carolina's Outer Banks. I'll be posting about recent weddings so you can see what we're doing here at the beach! I hope this will be a resource for all brides thinking about a beach wedding. Feel free to contact me for more information about weddings, rehearsal dinners, and any other private event at The Currituck Club! To get things started, here are some photos of one of my favorite weddings this year - 6.4.11 Meg & Corey! Great people, great ideas, and so much fun!

Meg and Corey - June 4th, 2011

Instead of a standard cake, they chose to only have one tier for cutting purposes and then a dessert assortment.

YUM! Candy bar with lots of goodies and cute labels!

Lemons were used throughout the decor - what a cool place card idea! Fresh and beachy!

The bride is so talented - she did much of the decor herself, including the signs and silverware tags!

Outside flowers, ceiling, and table decor by Bells and Whistles - so perfect!
