Nautical Touches

Melanie was a bride after my own dream wedding's heart! She chose small nautical touches instead of an overall beach theme and it turned out beautifully! I liked so many details like the Adirondack chair escort cards and seashell napkin rings, but I LOVED the knot table numbers. And check out the amazing sunset we were blessed with that evening :)

Nebraska meets North Carolina

Another wedding that booked sight unseen but taken to the extreme - the bride and her side of the family, all from Nebraska, had never been to the Outer Banks before! Talk about a leap of faith! This was such a great group of people - although some flew in from Nebraska, many drove the 2-day trip to make it here for a week in Corolla. This couple also followed another of our wedding trends for 2012 - a mid-week wedding! Tuesday June 5th threatened us with storms, so we moved all the dining tables under the veranda but the day couldn't have been more beautiful!

Sight Unseen but a Perfect Fit!

Jen & Taylor started a trend for The Currituck Club - falling in love with our venue sight unseen! When I first started talking to Jen last fall, she had seen lots of pictures online and knew she wanted her wedding here. They came out for a quick tour with contract and check already in hand and I guess seeing it in person confirmed what they'd been thinking all along! Since then, we've had so many brides book for dates in 2012 & 2013 that have never even been here! It takes a confident bride to make such a big decision from a distance but we have no problem making sure they know they made the right choice :) Jen & Taylor are one of my favorite couples ever - they were so great to work with and I'm so happy I got to witness their love for each other :)

Sweet Couple + Sweet Cake

This was one of the sweetest couple's I've ever had the pleasure of working with! Brooke did so much of the planning, decor, and work herself and was so organized about it. They had their ceremony under the veranda, cocktail hour in the Rees Jones Lounge, and the dinner and reception under the veranda as well. Loved the bright pink & teal with burlap accents and their delicious red velvet cake from Sweet-e-pies of Kill Devil Hills!
